As the technology does not actually come into physical contact with the patients, it was a challenge to categorize the Medsonix Therapy System with the Food and Drug Administration. Nevertheless, in 2004, Medsonix was registered as a “Class1 Medical Device” with the FDA. It is the safest classification possible.
